Read Hilton, 705 351 8100, has been a professional sales person all his working life, developing organizational sales skills to help him move very quickly and accurately through the processes of both sales and marketing.
Read has been the Membership Sales Manager of the Beaver Valley Ski Club for 24 years now, as well as a Member for 35 years. In this part-time sales capacity, Read has interacted with some 24,000 ski families, mostly from the Hwy 400 series corridors, and helped some 2,000 families join the club – which has changed their lives forever.
So, a real estate career was inevitable for Read, and 10 years ago, he passed his courses and chose the Brand – Chestnut Park Real Estate Limited, along with the prestigious affiliation of Christies Real Estate, to pursue this next stage of his sales career.
After moving up from London, to live full-time here, and with his construction materials sales background, along with his local contractor knowledge, he quickly has become the go-to agent for any issues that pertain to the successful listing and sale of country properties, in the Beaver Valley.
When not working on a Transaction, Read and Gail enjoy all of the area’s winter and summer sports, with their friends and clients, including their membership at the OslerBrook Golf and Country Club.

I have always had an interest in Sales and in 1982 after graduating from the University of Toronto I completed the necessary courses to get my Real Estate Licence and joined Canada Permanent in their Bayview office. The market was difficult at that time, interest rates were astronomical, I remember my amortization book started at 8%. People were losing their homes, it was a very sad and unstable time. I decided I couldn’t afford to wait out the market and ended up in Collingwood. I came for a weekend and never went home! I was a Mortgage Broker for many years which I loved doing. The challenges of putting together a deal and working with local realtors was very rewarding. When I became a single parent, I knew I couldn’t keep up with the crazy hours, so Maid In Collingwood, a residential cleaning business was born in 1993. It has been a great accomplishment for me. I developed and nurtured the business and 25 years later it is thriving. With a new Beaver Valley location, Maid in the Valley, recently added. I have excellent permanent staff and a General Manager to help with the day to day operations, plus my daughter joined the team in 2015.
With the company running smoothly, in 2011 I took the courses needed to obtain my Real Estate Licence once again. I never lost my interest in it and always hoped I would be a part of it again. With all the contacts I have developed through Maid In Collingwood I hope to be able to circulate information of my listings to them using social media and the internet. I look forward to offering this added service to my customers and new friends.
Outside of work I learned to ski at the Beaver Valley Ski Club in 2009, and am now a member and now totally embrace the winter. My other passion is golf, and I am a member of Osler Brook Golf & Country Club. Whenever possible I like to be outside enjoying all this fabulous area has to offer.
Read Hilton is my partner in Real Estate and in Life. We have a home in the Valley and another one in Collingwood where we stay a couple days a week while we participate in office meetings and MLS tours of homes in the area.
